Stair Pressurisation
Fire-mode commissioning per AS/NZS 1668.1 and AS 1851 for compliant life safety systems.
In a fire, a pressurised stair keeps smoke out of the escape route while still letting people open the doors. We run the system in fire mode and test that it does both.
What we do on site
- Run the system in fire mode.
- Measure pressure differentials across the stair doors.
- Measure door opening forces.
- Measure air velocity through open doors.
- Check relief paths and fan control response, then adjust and retest.
When it’s needed
- Commissioning of new buildings before occupation.
- Routine testing of existing systems under AS 1851.
- After works that affect the stair, its doors or the relief air path.
What you receive
A test report with readings for each door and level tested, set against the requirements.
