Air Balancing
Measuring and adjusting supply, return, and exhaust airflows to engineered design specifications.
A system can be installed exactly to the drawings and still deliver the wrong air to the wrong rooms. Balancing measures what each outlet is getting and adjusts the system until every one matches the design.
What we do on site
- Measure airflow at each grille, diffuser and register against the design schedule.
- Traverse main ducts to confirm the total airflow each fan is delivering.
- Adjust balancing dampers proportionally so every outlet lands within tolerance.
- Record fan and system readings at the final settings.
When it’s needed
- New builds and fit-outs approaching handover.
- Tenancy changes, re-partitioning or added outlets.
- Comfort complaints: hot and cold spots, draughts or noisy outlets.
- Base building upgrades and plant replacements.
Systems we balance
Air handling units, fan coil units, packaged and ducted split systems, VAV systems, general and toilet exhaust, and car park ventilation.
What you receive
A balance report listing design airflow, measured airflow and percentage of design for every outlet and system tested, referenced to the mechanical drawings.
