Pressure Testing
Duct and system leakage testing in accordance with AS 4254 and project-specific tolerances.
Leaking ductwork wastes fan energy and starves the outlets at the end of the run. Pressure testing proves the installed duct holds air before ceilings close and insulation goes on.
What we do on site
- Isolate and seal the duct section under test.
- Pressurise the section to the specified test pressure with a leakage test rig.
- Measure the leakage rate and compare it with the allowable rate for that section.
- Where a section fails, locate the leaks so the installer can seal them, then retest.
When it’s needed
- Before ductwork is insulated or concealed.
- Where the specification calls for a set proportion of ductwork to be tested.
- Medium and high pressure systems, and systems serving critical spaces.
What you receive
A leakage test report for each section: test pressure, measured leakage, allowable leakage and result.
